Violin http:// www.creategreathealth.com Elizabeth Monacelli, a native Rhode Islander, began her violin studies with her father at age five. Ms. Monacelli continued her training at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, Massachusetts, The Juilliard School in New York City, New York, and New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, where she received a Diploma in Performance in 1988.
Ms. Monacelli has won numerous competitions in the United States, which include the National Federation of Music Clubs Young Artists Competition (2nd place winner, 1989), Music Teachers National Association Wurlitzer Collegiate Competition (grand prize winner, 1988), Young Concert Artists International Competition (semifinalist, 1986), Boston Symphony Orchestra Young Artists Competition (winner, 1985). She also was a chosen participant in the New York String Orchestra Seminar, where she performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City, New York, and Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.
Ms. Monacelli has been soloist with the New England Philharmonic, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Fall River Symphony, Longy Chamber Orchestra, Newton Symphony, and the Colorado Symphony. In addition, Ms. Monacelli gives numerous solo and chamber music recitals around the United States and has appeared on WGBH and WQXR radio.
Ms. Monacelli taught violin, viola and chamber music at “The Music School” in Providence, Rhode Island 1989-1996. In addition, she has been a chamber music coach and concertmaster at the Southeastern Music Festival in Columbus, Georgia and the University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa).
Currently, Ms. Monacelli performs with the San Diego Symphony, San Diego Opera and the San Diego Chamber Orchestra.
